Parasite Eve

The Parasite Eve series currently includes Parasite Eve (exclusive JP and US release) and Parasite Eve II, both published for the Sony Playstation, while for the Playstation Portable and DoMoCo cellphones was released The 3rd Birthday.

Parasite Eve is sequel to the novel of the same name, written by Hideaki Sena. Aya Brea is watching an opera when, during the exhibition everyone in the building spontaneously combusts. The only survivors are Aya, the man who accompanied her to the opera house, and an actress named Melissa Pearce. Aya confronts Melissa, but after Melissa tells something about Aya’s mitochondria, she flies into the sewers. In the following six days Aya will have to find Melissa, who now wants to be called Eve, and stop her.

Parasite Eve II takes place three years after the events of the original game. Aya Brea has joined FBI to prevent another mitochondria outbreak. After encountering several Neo Mitochondrial Creatures (NMCs) in a Los Angeles office building, Aya starts an investigation to discover what caused into this new invasion of mitochondria. She will have to travel to a variety of locations and fight dozens of NMCs that don’t want her to discover the truth behind their existence.

Although different, both of these two titles are simply amazing. They have an original storyline, great cinematics and much more. Considering their age, graphics are really impressive and the soundtracks are simply breath-taking. And don’t forget that the worst foe lies within the self….
