Lost

Lost is an American television series which began to air on September 22, 2004. The show follows the adventures of the survivors of the Oceanic Flight 815, a commercial passenger jet crashed on a mysterious island located in the South Pacific. Most of the action takes place the island itself, although flashbacks and flash-forwards are regularly used to depict what characters did/will do off the island.

Lost won many awards, such as the Emmy Award for outstanding drama series in 2005, best American import at the British Academy Television Awards also in 2005 and the Golden Globe for the best drama series in 2006.

Produced by ABC, Bad Robot Productions and Grass Skirt Productions, Lost is written by J.J. Abrams, Damon Lindelof and Jeffrey Lieber, while the scores were composed by Michael Giacchino.

On Lost the characters are the ones who truly drive the plot, with their actions, secrets, interactions. I do have a few favourites on the show, but the only one that never disappointed me and keeps me glued in front of the TV every time the show is on is Sawyer.

Since the very first time I saw him, I knew I was going to like him. My intuition was not wrong and he indeed became not only my favourite character on the show, but also one of my favourite characters ever. He started as the would-be-villain, hated and despised by everyone, and ended up as the hero who sacrificed himself so that everyone could be safe. I cannot think of anyone else who changed in such a positive way. His character development throughout the show was great and I can’t wait to see what will happen next.

Sawyer has all the elements I enjoy in a character. He is a bad boy, he is funny and sarcastic (his nicknames alone deserve an award), smart, determined…. Also, being super handsome is nice extra!
