Kingdom Hearts

Kingdom Hearts is an action role-playing game for the Playstation 2, result of an unusual collaboration between Square Enix and The Walt Disney Company. In the game there are many characters and settings taken directly from Disney’s films together with characters from previous Final Fantasy games. The game sold over 5.6 million copies worldwide, it has two sequels already released (Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories for the GBA and Kingdom Hearts II for the Playstation 2) and three upcoming games (Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep for the PSP, Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days for the Nintendo DS and Kingdom Hearts: Coded for mobile phones).

The story begins on Destiny Islands, where Sora, Riku, and Kairi live. One night, the islands are attacked by strange shadow creatures, the Heartless. Sora looks for his friends, only to see Riku disappearing into darkness. When the islands are destroyed, Sora ends up in Traverse Town. There he meets Donald and Goofy, he decides to join them and they set out together to find Sora’s friends.

Sora

Sora is the main protagonist, we may also say hero, of Kingdom Hearts. He is optimistic, loyal, he would anything to protect his friends. Unlike other heroes of the Final Fantasy saga (Squall, anyone?) he is definitely a happy character. Of course he does have his insecurities, but I guess it’s normal considering he is a teenager and that his world was basically turned upside down in…one day o_O
