History

I discovered fanlistings not a long time after their first network was born; too bad at that time I didn’t have the possibility to build my own. Eventually in 2003 I bought my first domain and started to create fanlistings. The first one was dedicated to Harle, from Chrono Cross (it’s still up and running here) and it was updated by hand.

Around 2004, I began to create more and more fanlistings. A lot of topics I liked didn’t have a fanlisting and that seemed unfair to me. Plus, I discovered PHP Fanbase; a wonderful script that made maintaining and updating quick and easy. The number of my owned fanlistings grew fast: soon I arrived at the point of owning more than 100 of them.

My first collective was called Dementia (as the Muse’s song) and it was born in late 2004, mainly because I needed a place to keep all those fanlistings organized.

My fanlisting-making days didn’t last a lot though. Owning such a large number of fanlistings wasn’t for me and therefore I slowly began to adopt out all those that weren’t really close to my heart. During the summer of 2005 my goal was to own less than 30 fanlistings. I still adopt out a fanlisting every now and then; the old goal has been renewed and I plan to cut down to 20 fanlistings in order to expand the remaining ones from little to large-sized shrines.

name

After I found other two collectives named Dementia I decided to change the name and use something a little bit more unique. Oh Poison! doesn’t have any particular meaning…it’s just a phrase that was stuck in my head and that I liked a lot. Sorry, no special or deep reasons behind the choice but plain casualty.

A thought that has been bugging me lately is that of picking a new name for this collective, something that actually fits with the concept of fanlistings. Alas, I’m too affectionate to Oh Poison! to replace it, so for now it remains XD
