Rydia feels at home in the Feymarch, but she cannot stay there forever. Queen Asura informs her of what is going on and how Golbez has become even more dangerous. Hearing that the whole world is threatened, prompts Rydia to go back to her friends and continue the battle together.
Feeling lonely. Aside from the tangible danger of Golbez, there is another reason that makes Rydia come back. Since the loss of her family and home town, friendship is a big issue for Rydia.
Being a summoner already makes Rydia special and different from the rest, especially because after what happened in Mist there aren’t many summoners left. The gap between Rydia and other kids of her same age becomes even wider when she stays in the Feymarch. While she certainly became a stronger fighter, she couldn’t spend the most important years with her own kind. Those years during which kids tend to explore and gain experiences with their fellows (be it a good or a bad thing). Instead of making friends with humans of her same age, Rydia spends both her pre-teen and early teen years in a magical land where humans aren’t usually allowed to go.
Rydia certainly made friends, but chocobos, imps, bombs and Eidolons cannot be compared to human kids. Non-human creatures may age and grow at a different rate than she, so they could hardly understand what she was going through. Furthermore, most of the creatures she got to know are probably nothing more than acquaintances. Indeed, save for Leviathan and Asura the rest of the inhabitants are not really close friends with Rydia.
She might not realise it, but deep down Rydia is lonely. Surely she decides to come back to help Cecil, but it is equally certain that she wishes to be with her friends again. After tragedy hit her, she met some wonderful people, who became close friends and with whom she desires to be in company. Rydia’s attachment to the party is understandable in the light of what happened; after losing everything she had, those people are the only ones she knows well enough to trust them. Everything look bigger and greater when you are a child, Cecil, Rosa and all the others looked like heroes to Rydia, something which makes her feel even weaker that what she is.
