As mentioned on the home page, Nymph‘s content is divided into two main parts. The first part is dedicated to the character of Rydia and to the analysis of a few interesting aspects of her abilities and personality. Beware that all these pages contain spoilers!
- Foundation: a general presentation; it includes a profile and an analysis of symbols related to Rydia.
- Magic: the role of magic and mages in the Final Fantasy saga.
- Wizard: Rydia’s abilities as a mage, how her powers tell something about her.
- Summons: Rydia’s helpers; a presentation of the most important Eidolons Rydia has.
The second part deals with Rydia’s biography from the beginning of Final Fantasy IV till the end of The After Years. In some cases, the historical part is mixed with the analysis of various issues; from Rydia’s relationships with the other characters to her personality. It is possible to recognize these analytical parts by their title, which is marked with this special style.
- Prologue: a short summary of what happens prior to the introduction of Rydia.
- Tragedy: the destruction of Mist and Cecil’s meeting with Rydia.
- Recovery: bound by fate; Cecil decides to take care of Rydia while she decides to help him.
- Experiences: beginning to grow up; Rydia’s first adventures with Cecil and the meeting with new friends.
- Fear: old memories come back to hunt; Rydia must overcome her fear of fire.
- Separation: swallowed by Leviathan; Rydia’s apparent death.
- Second Home: the Feymarch also known as “Land of Summons”; the place which becomes a second-home for Rydia.
- Rebirth: from child to adult, an overview of Rydia’s (physical and mental) transformation.
- Loneliness: Rydia learns a lot in the Feymarch, but her real place is somewhere else…
- Return: reunion with the group; after staying in the Feymarch Rydia comes back to help.
- Love: a ninja stole her heart; Rydia’s first meeting with Edge.
- Conclusion?: all together to face the enemy.
- A New Life: seventeen years later the original Final Fantasy IV, the events of the sequel (with a focus on Rydia’s chapter, of course!).
- Epilogue: what’s left of Rydia; her influence on other female characters in other chapters of the Final Fantasy saga.
