Unlike the previous battles, this time you must defeat both Redoubts before being able to attack the body. Once the Redoubts have been disabled, an invisible countdown will start and Shuyin will say something from time to time. If you let him speak for seven times it will be game over so keep attacking Vegnagun with your strongest attacks (Excalibur and Darkness are both good choices) and protect the party by casting Protect and Shell. As an alternative, it is also possible to use magic attacks such as Flare (Garment Grid Conflagration), Holy (Garment Grid Supreme Light) and Ultima (Garment Grid Megiddo) or powerful physical attacks as the ones provided by the Berseker Dressphere.

After defeating Vegnagun, Yuna will use the Songstress Dressphere and try to send Lenne’s feelings to Shuyin. At first Shuyin seems to believe Yuna, but once he realizes that the one who’s talking isn’t his beloved Lenne…he’ll attack you.
