Shuyin is Final Fantasy X-2 main villain and final boss.
He lived in the highly technological city of Zanarkand, a thousand years prior to Final Fantasy X. There he fell in love with a popular songstress, Lenne. Their love story though was a sad one.
War broke out between their city and the powerful city of Bevelle. Shuyin had to join the army and Lenne was sent to the front lines since she was very good in the art of summoning. Zanarkand didn’t stand a chance to win the war so Shuyin tried to save her by using Vegnagun (a very powerful machina hidden in Bevelle’s underground).
Shuyin failed and both he and Lenne were shot dead, however his spirit continued to linger among the living. His rage and sorrow were so strong that they drove mad anyone who entered the Den of Woe (a cave below the Mushroom Rock Road).
While looking for Lenne, Shuyin saw that Spira hadn’t changed over the years so his search for Vegnagun began once again, this time more determined than ever to annihilate all Spira.
