Back when Final Fantasy X-2 came out, there used to be Shuyin (and Lenne) shrines. Few years later and bam! All those shrines are gone. Final Fantasy X-2 isn’t exactly popular among the fans of the series, and that’s a shame. I think it is actually well done, only the plot is not as straightforward as other Final Fantasy titles.

Anyway, back to Shuyin. Shuyin has a solid background story and he isn’t the average psycho/selfish bad guy. After one thousand years alone it’s understandable that he became a bit mad. He truly loved Lenne and his desire to destroy Spira wasn’t driven by, say hunger for power. He just wanted to be with her again. Ahem…I have a soft spot for loving, complex, tragic guys.
