At first I wanted to use an artwork image so that the layout could match with my Shuyin fanlisting layout.

Problem is…there are only two artworks of Shuyin available (one by Nomura, the other by Amano) and I had already used both for the fanlisting. No matter how hard I tried, I always ended up with something very similar to what I had done in the past.

After rejecting artworks, I tried with FMVs images. It was a bit of a challenge not to rely on artworks since that’s the type of images I tend to use in most of my layouts. I managed to come up with a nice layout, it had blue/violet tones and it was bright. Maybe too bright for Shuyin.

The second tentative resulted in the layout you see now. I find the antique, grunge look more in line with Shuyin’s personality :)
