Later on, Yuna makes up her mind that she must tell Shuyin how Lenne feels. Maybe seeing his lover again will prevent him from carrying out his crazy plan. The only way to do that, is the plunge into one of the holes appeared in Spira’s temples and reach Vegnagun.
After diving into one of the holes, they meet up with Nooj, Gippal, and the LeBlanc Syndicate. Nooj has a plan to stop Shuyin, but Yuna disagrees…actually she tells him his plan “sucks”. So she exposes her alternative plan and they agree to try it.

After defeating Vegnagun, the Gullwings approach Shuyin. At first he sees Lenne talking to him:

Yuna: Shuyin. There’s something I must tell you. Words left unspoken for 1000 years…I love you. And I’m grateful, grateful that you stayed with me until the end.
Shuyin: But, I couldn’t save you!
Yuna: It doesn’t matter. Please, don’t go on grieving alone.
Yuna/Lenne: Rest.

Shuyin then steps out of Baralai and walks towards Yuna. Still seeing her as Lenne he says: “We can finally fade…together.”

But just when things seemed to go in the right direction, Lenne’s image fades revealing Yuna. Shuyin is mad for having been deceived and fights against the Gullwings. Yuna pleads with him, she cries “Shuyin! Please stop this!”, but he does not listen.

Once Shuyin is defeated, Lenne emerges from Yuna’s body and walks toward him.

Shuyin: Lenne? Lenne.
Lenne: Hi there.
Shuyin: A thousand years…and this moment is all we get?
Lenne: This moment is enough. I don’t need anything else. Just knowing how you feel is enough. Shuyin, let’s end this. Let’s go home.
Shuyin: Can we?
Lenne: That was all a thousand years ago. We’ve come too far to look back now. Rest Shuyin…Rest with me. Let’s go. I have a new song for you.

Lenne turns to Yuna and says “Thank you.” Yuna nods. Lenne and Shuyin fade away, disappearing together.
