Short preamble: I was supposed to publish this post back in September, but then I got busy with some IRL stuff so…I forgot it -__- Anyway, here it is now.
Since the last update two marathons were held at Amassment and, needless to say, I participated to both of them. I combined the results of these marathons in one post since they both dealt with shrines.
For the banner trade marathon the following shrines received new buttons: Ab Intra; I Miss You; Nymph; Odi et Amo; Shades of Grey; Weird. A special thanks goes to Ava; Crystal; Destinie; dubiousdisc; Juhi; Michelle; and Stefi who donated the buttons.
For the link drive meme instead, many shrines of mine either received new affiliates or made link exchanges with other shrines. Here is the complete list:
Outside the link meme, but still regarding affiliation, Nocturne was affiliated with Lunar Shadow, Brittany’s Yuna shrine, which I already had on my link list.
All the shrines mentioned above have also been added on The Wired. I may left out one or two sites, but they will be added soon because I’m planning to do a quick link update/cleaning in between the other things I have on my (incredibly long) to-do list. (Sigh…so much to do, so little time ;__;).
Fanlistings affiliations (both done trough the meme and outside the meme) will be covered in another post (along with some *tentative* adoptions…maybe :P).
Coming up: fanlisting collective post regarding affiliations/adoptions, network fall/winter projects plan

Another day…another revision!
Just like Nocturne, the only thing I need to do to consider Nymph complete is the media section. As I said in my previous Rydia post, capturing anything from the DS in a good quality is quite hard. Since the textual part of Nymph is already finished I will wait until the PSP version of Final Fantasy IV comes out so that acquiring videos won’t be a problem. Until then, Nymph is going to be static and on hiatus.
I’ll make another update as soon as I get my priority list ready :)

If I had dubbed Nocturne “the shrine I worked on all summer”, Nymph was going to be dubbed “the shrine I never thought I would finish”. As I’ve already anticipated, Nymph was opened much later than what I had planned. The marathons Amassment held this summer (together with university duties) forced me to skip working on this shrine for a few months. Also the layout-related woes (see below) didn’t help to speed up the process. But hey, now it’s finally on-line:
Nymph is a shrine to Rydia from Final Fantasy IV. I played the DS version of the game not a long time ago and given the lack of “old-school” Final Fantasy shrines currently on-line I wanted to create a small tribute to one of the characters. I had considered Cecil (AKA knight in shining armour and purple lipstick lover) and Kain as possible subjects besides Rydia, but with the lack of girl shrines here on Sohryu.nu the choice fell on the green-haired summoner :)
Since Final Fantasy IV may not be as popular as the later chapters in the Final Fantasy saga I tried to organise the content in a way that even people not familiar with the game would to be able to read the essays and follow the game plot. The shrine is divided in two main parts: first is a general introductory section for those who already know Rydia, second is a biography. Since the biography alone would have been a bit boring, it is joined by a series of essays. I originally wanted to let the viewer decide which content to show (biography + essays, biography, essays), but I didn’t have the time to code the this type of menu so, for now, the only choice is biography + essays.
At the moment Nymph is a text-heavy tribute. When I planned to add my own images I didn’t take into consideration that the DS is no PSP nor PS and without a video output recording is not that easy. I looked for some tutorials on Youtube, but the research was rather unsuccessful because the only solutions provided were 1) use an emulator or 2) record using a web-cam and a tripod. After another research on :google: it turns out that there is a cable to connect the DS to a TV, however it isn’t for sale. Someone even tried to directly contact Nintendo to have it, but their response was that only commercial websites (for example those websites which review video-games like IGN) can have it. I will probably have to use the emulator or wait for Final Fantasy IV to be released on the PSP. A bundle (thanks Ava for tweeting about it ;)) with both Final Fantasy IV and The After Years is going to be released in Japan and I’m quite confident that, sooner or later, it will arrive in Europe.
And now…a bit more about the lame excuses motives for such a huge delay.

Coming up: I would like to open a media section, but that probably won't happen until I replay the game. Given that 1) I have other upcoming shrines to complete and 2) I will probably opt to use an emulator = no possibility to use cheats, it will probably take a while.
