Aspiring to become like his grandfather who was once a soldier, Zell entered the Garden at the tender age of 13. Never having been one to think matters through, he is well known to frequently act on impulse rather than using common-sense. At heart, however, he is an honest, dedicated young man.
Overview
After loosing his parents during the war against the Sorceress, Zell was left in the Centra Orphanage. Sometime later, he was adopted by the Dincht family and moved to Balamb. Zell is very attached to his adoptive family and he could be “labelled” as the mama’s boy type. Indeed, he cares a lot for his mother (Ma Dincht), he often thinks about her and her well-being.
Zell has great combat skills and he practices martial art very frequently. When he isn’t doing his exercises he tries to get an hot-dog at the Garden’s cafeteria (unfortunately for him, not always succeeding).
His hyper-active and sometimes childish behaviour leads people to think he is the clown of the group or just plain stupid. Albeit he certainly isn’t as complex or troubled as Squall or Seifer, he isn’t a one-dimensional character either. There is more than jumping around and punching the air…as with all well-made characters, Zell’s personality has different sides.
